Following the adoption of the 2030 Agenda, it became a core strategy for strengthening the social safety net for those at risk of being left behind in the process of economic innovation, including women. The Plan sought to strengthen women's participation in economic activities and was the framework on which the government supported action to promote women's career development after the SDGs were adopted. It imposed regulations to ensure maternity leave and the mandatory provision of childcare services by companies with more than 500 employees.
